The Human-in-the-Loop Architecture
Trust, but Verify
In high-stakes industries—finance, healthcare, legal—an AI hallucination can be a disaster. You cannot simply "automate everything" and hope for the best.
Designing for HITL
We architect systems where the AI is a drafter, not a publisher.
Stage 1: Low Confidence
When the AI's confidence score on a task is below a threshold (e.g., < 90%), the system routes the output to a human dashboard for review. The human corrects the mistake.
Stage 2: Feedback Loop
Crucially, the human's correction is saved. This becomes a "Golden Dataset" that we use to fine-tune the model or improve the prompt. The system gets smarter with every human intervention.
The Dashboard is Key
The success of HITL depends on UX. The human operator shouldn't be copy-pasting JSON. We build custom React dashboards where the AI's suggestion is pre-filled, and the human just clicks "Approve" or makes a quick edit.
This 80/20 approach—AI does 80% of the work, Humans do the critical 20%—is the most pragmatic path to AI adoption in 2024.
